UPDATE: 03/05/2009 @ 8:00am EST - Both COD5 servers patched. FIxes as to demo recording and team auto-balance (yay!) verified as working. 

The COD:WaW (COD5) game has had patch 1.3 released. This patch IS NOT cumulative which means it requires 1.2 to be installed before 1.3 can be added. Our servers will be updated in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 5, 2009.

The patch is designed to address issues with demo recording, screen shots over writing each other, Vista sound loss and the team auto-nalance feature which has never worked in this game. Additional fixes from the server end not visible to the user were added.

As usual, the patch is available here on the NC Downloads section and weighs in at a little over 61 megabyte. Due to the relative small size of the file, in addition to it being available to members, it is also visible for download by registered guests of the site.

This is the first download to be made available to other than NC members and we trust it wont be over-used or abused so we can continue to offer patches of reasonable size to both members and registered guests. As always, thanks for your cooperation and support.

R1 COD4 League: It's that time again! Season four is prepping to kick off and we are going to run out two teams. Even if your interest is slight at this time, we need enough members, new and old, to go to www.realism1.com and sign up. As the old saying goes, we can't use you if you're not registered!

Once you are signed up, respond to this post please. It is COD4 and it is true tactical competition S&D OpenWarfare modded play style. Even if your time available will be limited, we still need you. Our philosophy of "real life first" means that some may be able to be at every match and some only a couple but we still want you on the team.

Get up with Crep, Todd, B7 or myself for more details. We need this done as soon as possible as the season is no more than a couple of weeks away.

B3 Access Training: While it has been a general success, simply adding new members as moderators is not really fair to them nor the community. To make sure we are all singing off the same page in the song book, we need to take some time and explain to our new members as well as current members who may be new to B3 what our approach is.

No, it isn't that difficult but to maintain the consistency in server help and rules enforcement, expecting new folks to simply learn "on the job" is unrealistic. Next time you log into the TS server, note that there is a channel called B3 Training. To get access to B3, new members will need to spend familiarization time with a senior admin there.

Do so at your liesure but know that this will be requisite to new B3 access or advanced beyond your current access level. Anyone that is on from myself to Endo can be asked for this familiarization session. We will work at your pace and when you and the "trainer" both feel you are ready for a go, your access will be given.

New B3 moderators and admins also need to be on TS when using B3 for the simple reason that if we failed to properly relay how a certain rule or policy is enforced, we can't do proper explanations and updates via in game chat.
